Fuel Price Report 6/29/2021
Up, up, and away!
Fuel prices increased again from last week, which marked the sixth week in a row the average price of diesel fuel has increased nationally. Fuel prices are up across all regions in the United States this week with the greatest increase coming out of the Rocky Mountain region (PADD4) at an increase of $.040/gal diesel fuel and the smallest increase coming out of the Gulf Coast region (PADD3) at $.002/gal diesel fuel.
This week’s fuel cost ($3.300/gal) marks the highest national average cost of diesel fuel per gallon in 137 weeks ($3.282/gal, Nov. 19, 2018).
Looking at the 208 weeks former President Donald Trump was in office, this week’s prices alone would be the 8th highest fuel cost in that 4 year span. It only took current President Joe Biden’s administration 160 days to accomplish this, and, at the average rate of increase in national average cost per gallon of diesel fuel since President Joe Biden has been in office (+$.025/gal of diesel fuel per week), the current administration would secure the top spot on the aforementioned list by July 26, 2021.
